K-2 | LEGO STEM Camp

LEGO® STEM Camp is a five-day (two separate sessions) daytime program for K-2 deaf/hard of hearing children. 

 

In collaboration with Play-Well TEK instructors, campers will have access to LEGO® collections to build objects, structures and vehicles. Focus is on engineering and physics as well as learning to create without fear of mistakes. Campers will enhance their collaboration, problem solving and critical thinking skills, and learn new concepts and vocabulary. They will test, build, modify, and rebuild their creations. At the end, campers will bring home a set of unopened LEGO® materials to exercise their creativity. Session A theme: Mandalorian Engineering; Session B theme: Enchanted Engineering.

Grade Levels: Kindergarten & Grades 1-2

Dates:  Session A: Monday-Friday June 12-16, 2023;
Session B: Monday-Friday June 19-23, 2023

Hours:  8 am–3 pm (daily drop off/pick up)

Location:  Texas School for the Deaf, Austin, TX

Host:  Statewide Outreach Center at TSD

Fee:  $250 per session

Note: Overnight lodging is the responsibility of the family and not available on-site. Hotel listing within close proximity is available on request.
